53rd Wedding Anniversary of Jerry & Shirley Mitchell

At the request of George-Anne I have posted to the Blog the message I sent to my wife Shirley via Face Book on our 53rd Anniversary

"53 years ago today I fell in love and married my soulmate. (9/24/1961).
I was a young sailor stationed on a ship in Key West, FL. You were the daughter of a sailor also stationed in Key West.
I played trumpet and sang with a dance band put together with crew members of the ship.
One night as we were performing at the Acey/Ducey Club, you walked in with your mother and father. I was on stage singing "Misty" and for me it was love at first sight.
Now 53 years later I love you more than ever, and thank you for standing by my side for better than half a century. Happy Anniversary "Sam"..."
